Warming up in Physical Education

Martes, 15 Octubre, 2024

Our students from the 4th year have prepared a warmup to be done in a Physical Education lesson. Click here to see a video with the students performing this warmup. If you keep on reading, they are providing more information about the benefits of warming up to our body:

What does a warmup do for your body?

Warming up before a workout can provide many positive outcomes such as:

  • Increasing blood and oxygen to the muscles that are in use.
  • Dilating blood vessels to pump blood easier.
  • Less strain on the heart to pump blood throughout the system.
  • Increasing body temperature, which boosts elasticity in the muscles.
  • Increasing muscle temperature, which can lead to less muscle injury and strain.
  • Activating of cooling methods, so the body won't overheat (sweating).
  • Hormones are released, which allows fatty acids and carbohydrates to be converted into energy.

We hope you have learned about the benefits of warming up before exercising, together with our students. Keep having a healthy life!
